General instructions for a default with no hearing
Please read all instructions carefully before submitting your paperwork.
Court staff are prohibited by law from providing legal advice (Government Code §§ 24004 and 68082).
Submitting your forms for filing
- You may not need every form listed. Submit all forms required for your specific situation.
- Complete all required information. Forms must be dated and signed where required.
- Forms must be typed or neatly printed in blue or black ink.
- Do not use lined or colored paper.
- Submit the original plus one set of copies for your records. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with adequate postage if you want copies returned by mail. Copies without a SASE may be placed in the Clerk’s Office pickup cabinet and may be destroyed after 30 days.
Interpreter needs
Court proceedings are conducted in English. If you need an interpreter, you may request one by completing and filing Judicial Council form INT-300 (Request for Interpreter) .
Publication
If service by publication is required, the newspaper charges a separate fee. You must contact the newspaper directly regarding cost. View the list of approved newspapers .
