Filing requirements

All documents must be on recycled 8.5 × 11 numbered-line paper (28 lines). Punched holes at the top are required. Manuscript covers are not required. It is not necessary to label documents as “original” or “copy,” though doing so is appreciated. Documents may be folded.

All text must be double-spaced, except for citations, quotations, footnotes, and real property descriptions. Documents filed by attorneys must include the attorney’s California State Bar number.

Notice

Filings paid by check that are returned unpaid will be void unless payment is made by cash, certified check, or money order within 20 days of notification, pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure section 411.20.
